Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic Review

April 17th, 2010

Nokia have recently been pushing more and more into the music phone market, a market that has for some time now been dominated by Sony Ericsson with their Walkman phone range. Nokia have definitely been making some headway, and one of their music dedicated phones in this market is the Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic.

The Nokia 5310 is a solid shaped mobile phone that measures 103.8 x 44.7 x 9.9 mm and weighs 70 grams. This is one of the lightest mobile phones around. The screen is 2 inches, which is a good size and very easy to read and view images. Being a music phone, Nokia have placed a few music-dedicated buttons on the side of the screen to make it easier to control and change your tracks and volume, with the keypad being beneath the screen. You can get the Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic in either red or blue.

The Nokia 5310 camera has 2 mega pixels with 4 times digital zoom. There really is not much other specifications for the camera, so although it is quite basic, the pictures it takes will be decent. The music player supports all popular formats like MP3, AAC etc., and has an FM Radio. There is 30 mega bytes of internal memory and, with a microSD card, this can be increased to 4 GB. As mentioned earlier the music dedicated buttons are along the side of the screen. It is possible to also get the Nokia 5310 Comes with Music Edition. Basically this means that you will receive free music downloads for a entire year.

You will find the basic applications on the Nokia 5310, such as organiser, calendar, alarm etc, as well as some advanced connectivity features like Bluetooth and GPRS.

In summary, the Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic might not have the technically specification for the music player that we would normally receive from a Walkman phone, but the music player is high quality, the phone is very thin, and the Comes with Music Edition means you will never be without the songs you want.
