Sony Ericsson W980i Review – Receive and Transmit Music

April 29th, 2010

The Sony Ericsson W980i is another great phone in the Walkman series. It includes a built-in FM transmitter that allows the W980i to take whatever is playing on the device and send it to other devices using the built in radio receiver. That means you can tune into your mobile phone from a car stereo, and with the 8000 song capacity, that can make for a nice change of pace when you’re driving, especially if you have to travel any distance.

With the Sony Ericsson W980i you have access to over five million tracks. Though the storage capacity is only for 8,000, that gives you an opportunity to change tunes when you tire of what you have store on your music phone. You can also choose to listen to whatever is on the FM receiver such as sports, weather, news, and anything else that appeals to you. You can even choose to switch back and forth between the radio and the music player in order to have a wider selection of music from which to choose.

The Sony Ericsson W980i also has a 3.2 megapixel camera with 3x zoom and unlike other phones in the Walkman series, the W980i has a flash. No information was available on the type of flash that the camera uses, but the fact that there is one available puts this phone higher in desirability than others in the same class. Of course, for those that are more interested in the music capabilities of the phone, even that may not be of great importance to you at all. Since all of the phones in the Walkman series (W) were built primarily as music phones, SE didn’t see a reason to add high quality cameras.

As the Walkman series becomes more popular, you can see more features going into the phones than there is now. Of course, there are currently more features than one would have thought a few years ago-when mobile phones first entered the market, who thought we would be playing music or taking pictures with them? Sony Ericsson has come a long way with their phones, and with Sony behind it, there are more choices in the music end of it.

As we progress, you will find more phones and higher capabilit8ies in each phone. For now look at a Sony Ericsson W980i review to see what people are saying and what other features they may seek other than a music phone with a high quality camera as well. Find some mobile phone deals, and you will be in a better position to check the W980i and see the high level of performance it provides and make sure all of the features are working properly. Choosing the W980i as your next mobile phone will provide you with hours of musical pleasure and quality talk time as well. If you want the best in a music phone, you want to give the W980i some quality time to strut its stuff.

Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic Review

April 17th, 2010

Nokia have recently been pushing more and more into the music phone market, a market that has for some time now been dominated by Sony Ericsson with their Walkman phone range. Nokia have definitely been making some headway, and one of their music dedicated phones in this market is the Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic.

The Nokia 5310 is a solid shaped mobile phone that measures 103.8 x 44.7 x 9.9 mm and weighs 70 grams. This is one of the lightest mobile phones around. The screen is 2 inches, which is a good size and very easy to read and view images. Being a music phone, Nokia have placed a few music-dedicated buttons on the side of the screen to make it easier to control and change your tracks and volume, with the keypad being beneath the screen. You can get the Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic in either red or blue.

The Nokia 5310 camera has 2 mega pixels with 4 times digital zoom. There really is not much other specifications for the camera, so although it is quite basic, the pictures it takes will be decent. The music player supports all popular formats like MP3, AAC etc., and has an FM Radio. There is 30 mega bytes of internal memory and, with a microSD card, this can be increased to 4 GB. As mentioned earlier the music dedicated buttons are along the side of the screen. It is possible to also get the Nokia 5310 Comes with Music Edition. Basically this means that you will receive free music downloads for a entire year.

You will find the basic applications on the Nokia 5310, such as organiser, calendar, alarm etc, as well as some advanced connectivity features like Bluetooth and GPRS.

In summary, the Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic might not have the technically specification for the music player that we would normally receive from a Walkman phone, but the music player is high quality, the phone is very thin, and the Comes with Music Edition means you will never be without the songs you want.

Nokia N96 Versus Sony Ericsson W910i

March 1st, 2010

Yet another comparison in mobile phones is the Nokia N96 versus the Sony Ericsson w910i. Sit back and learn what you can, it may help you figure out what your next mobile phone will be.

The Nokia N96 has a 5.0 mega pixel camera which is one of if not the best camera’s that can come in a mobile phone. The display is 2.8″ with a MP3 player and FM stereo tuner too. This phone is awesome and will impress everyone around.

The Sony Ericsson W910i has a much lower quality 2.5 mega pixel camera; it seems that the Nokia N96 has what is pretty much the best camera that is available in a mobile phone at present. Of course the Nokia N96 is not the only mobile that has this size of camera though.

The Sony Ericsson W910i is advertised as the walkman phone, so you know that it’s got some awesome music abilities to it. It’s a really sleek and awesome looking mobile too. Plus it has several colour choices which make for a big plus if you don’t want the normal black or silver that all mobile phones seem to come in. With a memory of 32 MB that can be expanded to 4 GB you should have enough room to hold quite a few songs.

The Sony Ericsson W910i is your phone if you want that walkman feature, but if you want several other pluses the Nokia N96 pretty much leaves the Ericsson in the dust. If you love to take pictures that 5 mega pixel camera in the N96 will make your day great. Not that the 2.5 mega pixel camera in the W910i isn’t good, but comparison have to be truthful and for a sharper picture you’ll want the 5 mega pixel!

The Sony Ericsson W910i is a cool phone though and like stated above with the choices of 5 colours it may win out in your choice of a mobile between these two phones. Not only do they have the regular black and silver, but bronze and pink and white are also available. This alone may win over some people who are stuck between choosing between the N96 and W910i. The technology is great in the Ericsson too, just not as advanced as that of the Nokia.

The same bides for the N96 mobile phone, technology is outstanding in this phone, and it would be a great choice in getting a new mobile phone for anyone.

Or go and see if you’re able to get a good mobile phone deal on either of these phones from a mobile phone company. If nothing else price is always a great decision maker when trying to figure out what is best for you as a consumer and which mobile phone you feel you would like and want to keep for a while. Or if you’re one of those people who switches out mobile phones very often heck you might be trying each of these phones soon!
